A morning that’s about nothing but baby. Picture leaving the hospital. Life quickly kicks in to a busy gear. Clouded by sleep deprivation and a constant knock at the door for well wishers and a thousand Amazon parcels of things you didn’t expect to need and Uber Eats. Normality has disappeared. It’s glorious but it’s a whirlwind, a joyful whirlwind but still a whizzy one. Now imagine allowing a morning to press pause.
Well that’s what it’s about being a newborn photographer. Stepping in and pressing pause on it all. Asking everyone to breathe and gift themselves and slice of this to keep. Everyone will tell you it “goes so fast” and you won’t believe them because the moments that make up the days can feel eternal. No one ever thought a nappy change went too fast or wished a bottle had taken longer to prepare. And these are the moments that make up a day now. But they roll by and that’s why every parent ever exclaims “IT GOES SO FAST!” Because it’s not that they weren’t warned. It’s that we all agree “fast” doesn’t properly describe the lightening speed reality of it all.
So, here in a little corner of South West London, is baby Zach’s moment of pause in the whirlwind…

All newborn portrait sessions take place in your own home. I love the authentic backdrop of being in baby’s natural habitat: their own loving home. After years of experience I found I didn’t have to make parents choose “studio or lifestyle?” Because I can create the clean simplistic studio-esc newborn portraits and the authentic lifestyle images in one session, in your home. I’ll bring everything I need, all you need to provide is a cleared bed space and window and we can make magic!
Sessions usually take 1.5-3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding and settling. It’s important to know that with me there’s no rush I love a birth story and new parents need time to chill and caffeinate. We’ll go at baby’s pace because it’s important you enjoy the experience of the session as well as the final images. These early baby days are precious and a portrait session should only be something that adds to the specialness of this time.
